Seraphim Humanoidzzzz by Tysho Seraphim Humanoidzzzz by Tysho
My concept work is taking too long- Ok, I've been producing an image or 2 every day- but my process is too slow. I'm trying alternate methods to speed up my pace.

These are some ideas for the Seraphim Human characters- they're not human... they just look human. And are supposed to be a bit 'perfect looking'- the closest thing to Angels, really (feel free to disagree!). BUT NO WINGS! I friggin' hate angel wings. Too cheesy :P

The colours of their clothing symbolize purity (white), corruption (black) and enlightenment (yellow).

I like it. If you don't like "angle wings" as in the feathered wings(they are kinda cheesy) you could always do wings of energy that are multi-purposeful. Form the energy to fly,to form a shield or to form a weapon etc.... Like the "Light hawk wings" in Tenchi Muyo. Just a thought.
Still cool looking.

Thanks man, glad you like them. I did toy with the wing idea but felt it was a little too cliche. I also want to distance them from any known religion as they aren't really angels. I don't want to try and hint at them being a part of Christianity or any other real life religion as the God (or the Creator as they refer to it) is something utterly different.
But I digress, thanks for the suggestion!

Okey dokey. These Seraphim, Whats different between them and humans? Do they have any special abilities or unique physical strength? Does anything tie into the meaning of there name Seraphim(Burning ones, burn, incinerate, destroy and some times Fiery serpents)? Just wanting to know more about what they are.

It depends on which meaning of Seraphim you look at- here I've depicted them in the the way Christianity views them- essentially as God's caretakers. Here's a rough write up of their role in the story:

At the point where mankind has fought and destroyed itself to near extinction the Seraphim appear in a massive alien ship and stop the conflict.
In an effort to save mankind they take those that are willing to 'surrender themselves' to the creator and take them to a new world.
These humanoid Seraphim are the one's that interact with humans and are generally regarded as angelic. They generally seek to cure people of illness via touch and their soldier units (the bigger things that you might find in my portfolio) keep the peace. Those caught breaking the law are rendered unconsious through a non lethal dart weapon and are taken to the Seraphim ship. No one knows what happens to them.
Like wise, the Seraphim humanoids visit on what is known as 'Ascension Day' a huge annual celebration where masses of people gather onboard Seraphim ships to finally become one with the Creator (only the 'purest' of citizens may board these vessels). They do not return however.
No one knows whether this is their true form or if they are really as pure and wonderful as they seem- but having saved mankind from extinction, given them a new home, ridded them of disease many people believe they are indeed angels.

Their physical appearence is almost exactly like a normal person- save for the strange glowing tattoos. However, they move with an inhuman grace and always speak in calm tones. They are all physically 'perfect' and as such are far stronger and faster than your average person. However, in no circumstances will they harm a human being. That's where the soldiers come in.

Whew- that was a bit of an essay! Sorry about that!

I enjoy the look! One thing I've always noticed is that a 3 color scheme works best when trying to make your characters stand out. Look at most superheros. :) They look fantastic!
